Haven Yoga Meditation outlines the wide variety of yoga classes available to people in the Brisbane region.
If you’re new to yoga and want to start attending classes, you may be surprised by the wide array of different forms of yoga available in Brisbane. If you want to find what yoga modality is right for you, below are some classes to try at Haven Yoga.
Easy Flow Yoga
Not all yoga requires a high level of fitness or flexibility! If you’re brand new to yoga classes, Easy Flow Yoga is a great place to start. In these sessions, a yoga teacher moves you through a sequence of movements to improve your physical fitness, while also calming your mind and relieving stress. If you’re nervous about group yoga, we also offer private yoga sessions at our studio.
Kundalini
A lesser-known form of yoga that you can try is Kundalini. This ancient form of yoga combines aspects of Bhakti yoga (which includes chanting), Raja yoga (for achieving mental and physical control) and Shaki yoga (expression of power and energy). People that regularly practice Kundalini enjoy increased mindfulness and compassion, a clearer mind and a more developed sense of self. Kundalini yoga classes can be difficult to find in the Brisbane area, however we offer sessions at Haven Yoga!
Sound Healing
If improving your mental health is something you’re looking for from yoga, sound healing might prove to be a beneficial activity for you. This modality involves using instruments such as singing bowls to create vibrations via sound waves. These vibrations move through the body to stimulate circulation and allow muscle relaxation. This can help with psychological problems such as anger, depression, fatigue and stress.
Meditation
Participating in regular meditation is known to decrease anxiety and stress, as well as increase mindfulness, so it could be beneficial if you have a fast-paced, stressful lifestyle. As well as these benefits, meditation can increase your awareness, compassion and clarity. If you’re looking for a class that is low-impact and improves your mental health along with your physical health, give meditation a try.
Goddess Circles
If you’re a woman looking to get in touch with your feminine energy in a safe, supportive space, you might enjoy taking part in a Goddess Circle. In these warm, collaborative sessions women share their ideas and experiences to encourage creativity and solve problems. At our yoga studio in Brisbane, we hold monthly Goddess Circles.
