Haven Yoga Meditation explains how Kundalini Yoga can be an effective way to inject energy into your life.
One of the most popular classes we teach at Haven Yoga Meditation is Kundalini Yoga. Unlike the other modalities we teach, we specifically hold this class in the morning, as it is an excellent way for participants to boost their energy for the rest of the day. In this blog, we explain how Kundalini Yoga can boost your energy in the morning, and how you can get started with this practice at our studio.
Understanding Kundalini Energy
Kundalini Yoga is a traditional modality, originally brought to the western world in 1968*, that involves various sequences of meditation, mantras, physical poses and breathing – known as kriyas. The purpose of completing these kriyas is to awaken the dormant energy that resides at the base of the spine. This is known as ‘Kundalini Energy’.
While other yoga modalities may target physical fitness or mental well-being, Kundalini yoga is unique in its emphasis on the use of energy for overall health, spiritual awakening and potential ‘enlightenment’.
How Kundalini Yoga Can Help Boost Your Energy
After Kundalini Energy is awakened, it ascends throughout the body, activating various energy centres (also known as chakras) along the spine. The ascent of this energy leads to heightened spiritual awareness, profound insights, and a deepened connection to the divine.
This process also clears energy blockages, enhancing overall vitality, mental clarity and physical well-being. Regular practice strengthens the nervous system, balances the endocrine system, and promotes a revitalised sense of energy. Because of this, you will enjoy increased and sustained energy after your Kundalini session!
At Haven Yoga Meditation, our Kundalini classes are also particularly popular with men, due to their dynamic combination of breathwork, meditation and postures.
Getting Started with Kundalini
If you think you could benefit from the energy-boosting qualities of Kundalini Yoga, you should consider joining a Kundalini class. Classes that are held in the morning are particularly beneficial for ensuring that your energy remains high for the rest of the day. It’s best practice to ensure that you are competing regular sessions to maximise the benefits these sessions provide.
